The ORA System for Cataract Surgery
The ORA System is a separate device known as an intraocular aberrometer. Dr. Aizuss uses the ORA System on all premium lenses, as well at additional cost to the patient on standard lenses. The cost of the ORA System is built into the premium lens cost to the patient so that there is no extra charge for ORA in those patients.
What is unique about the ORA System for Cataract Surgery?
The ORA system allows us to remeasure the power of the eye in the operating room after the cataract has been removed but before a lens implant is placed. Consequently, it verifies our preoperative measurements and lets us choose the correct lens implant with greater confidence than with preoperative measurements alone. In addition, the ORA has special uses for patients with prior laser vision correction or LASIK allowing further accuracy of lens implant selection.
